Circle Time
Introduce the letter and number for the day. Read a story using visual aids to increase involvement and comprehension. Music and movement inspires active involvement and increases students ability to learn sequence, social skills, and memory.
Free Choice
Multiple centers are set up throughout the classroom. Each center is designed to encourage active hands on learning. Every students participates in the art project for the day. Teachers encourage student interaction and development of problem solving skills.
Outdoor Activity
The students learn to follow directions, line up, and transition to a preferred activity and back to the classroom. Many students enjoy riding tricycles which is an advanced gross motor movement skill and playing on the playground structure. Teachers help students using models and prompts to encourage peer interaction and turn taking.
Centers
Three centers are set up throughout the room.
1. Music movement, obstacle course or story book involvement
2. Letter or number of the day tracing or game
3. Varies: Science activity, opposites, feelings, safety, sounds, numbers, etc.
