All About Homework...

All About Homework... iconAll About Homework...title

Homework reinforces what is learned at school and instills good work habits. Assignments are generally started in class, which means students should always know the directions of their assignments when working on them at home.

  • Children should work on written homework for no more than 60 minutes each night, Monday through Thursday. They should also read for 30  minutes each night.
  • Nightly Homework varies, but will always include
  • AR reading and math practice.
  • Often students will have follow up assignments to in class reading as well as grammar practice.
  • You can also count on science during the week.
  •  Finally, most weeks include a Daily Language Instruction and/or word study quiz on Fridays.  BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CHILD'S PLANNER EVERY NIGHT!!!
  • Unless we are working on a large project, our class does not have homework on weekends so students have time to spend with family and friend.

If you feel that your child is spending too much time on their assignments, please let me know so I can work with your child toward a solution. Please work with your child to stay on top of long- term projects.
